Frequently asked questions

If you are looking for more information on fabric, then you have come to the right place. If you don’t see the answer to your question here, feel free to get in touch and one of our representatives will help you.

Q: How do I know which fabric is right for me?

A: The right fabric will depend primarily on personal taste, and where/how you will be using the fabric. First and foremost, you should choose a fabric that you like the look of, and that coordinates with your home’s interior or exterior design. Once you have a look in mind, you should attempt to find fabric that is made for use in the location in which you’ll be using it. For instance, you may choose to use a vinyl fabric if you’re adding upholstery to a dining stool, since it is easier to clean. Keep in mind that you can use virtually any type of fabric in any location, you should just be aware that some fabrics will last longer in some locations than others.

Q: Can I use an indoor fabric outdoors?

A: In theory, you can. But in practice, your indoor fabrics may become mildewed, discoloured and otherwise in poor condition from being exposed to the elements.

Q: How much fabric should I buy?

A: This will depend on the size of the piece you are covering. A large piece will obviously need more fabric than a smaller piece would. Call our customer care representatives to determine how much fabric you will need for any given location or use our photos below. Keep in mind that they are only estimates.

Q: Are all fabrics machine washable?

A: No. You will need to follow the care instructions for your individual fabric to know if it’s machine washable.
